“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom…” Colossians 3:16
We are the church. We live as a part of the Kingdom of God. This kingdom has a King and His name is King Jesus. The King and His Word dwell in our lives. This means that He is in total control of our lives. Our lives are demonstrations of His power and His Word gives us all wisdom and instruction needed to pursue the life that He has designed for each of us to live. The question is, are you listening?
Today have you spent time with Him? You see, it is impossible to have been saved by His grace and not allow the word of Christ to dwell “richly” in us. Richly means that you are living out of an overflow of your daily fellowship with Him. Your time in His word is “rich” to your life and to the lives around you. It is valuable. Job 5:27 says,…”know it for your good.” Apart from His Word dwelling in you, you have no wisdom. True wisdom is only found through the King of this Kingdom.
But one of the most incredible truths about the kingdom is this: The King desires that the fellowship He has with you be shared for others to benefit. It is from the overflow of His Word in you that the King desires to teach and admonish others in all wisdom and instruction. It is your daily fellowship with Him that allows Him to use you to teach and admonish others in the building up of His Kingdom. Your fellowship with Jesus daily is for your own good and for the good of the church around you.
Practical Application: Today, allow His Word to dwell in you so richly that when the time comes that others in the church need it for teaching and admonishing you will be ready to share “true” wisdom from the King. Allow your fellowship with King Jesus today to overflow into the lives of others in the church, just as the King desires.
