NEXT Chapter: Foster Care Update

When we look back a decade from now, what is going to be different in Las Vegas, the West, and the World because Hope Church exists? Through our Next Chapter, we desire to seize the opportunities that are before us and identify how we are uniquely equipped to make a lasting impact for the glory of God in this generation.

One of opportunities that God has lead our church to focus on here in Las Vegas is Foster Care.  Specifically, we desire to impact the lives of children in need through engagement in the Foster Care System.  A new ministry has been born out of Hope Church to engage in this area of our society.  This new ministry is called Fostering Hope.  Please visit FosteringHopeLV.com for more information.

In order to truly make a difference in this area, one of the steps required is for families from Hope Church to become certified Foster Parents.  As we looked at the certification process, we noticed two things: the certification classes were not being offered in our immediate community, and childcare is an obstacle for those seeking to attend the class.  As a church, we have taken the necessary steps to eliminate both of those obstacles.  On August 6, 2017, the Department of Family Services began offering Foster Care Certification Classes on the Hope Church campus.  This first class has a total of 38 people in the process of being certified.  Additionally, because of the generosity of Hope Church, we are providing free childcare for the families attending the class.

The certification class will last for 10 weeks, and prayerfully every person who has started will also finish.  We desire to work alongside the Department of Family Services and willing individuals until there are no more waiting kids in Clark County.

Our prayer for the Foster Care System in Las Vegas is that one day there will be families waiting on children instead of children waiting on families.  Please join us in praying over these specific needs as we seek to be an agent of change in our city for the good of the children in foster care and the glory of God!

  • Pray for God to raise up Godly foster families.
  • Pray for God to raise up support for foster families.
  • Pray for a great working relationship between Hope Church and the Department of Family Services.
  • Pray for Las Vegas to be a different place in 10 to 15 years because so many answered the call to care for orphans.
