Lovewell Member Advocate Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Lovewell Member Advocate Coordinator focuses on discipleship, and serves in the details by working behind the scenes with members to provide those experiencing homelessness & poverty with access to needed resources. This position oversees the Lovewell Crew, assists with community partnerships and events, creates and finds new class curriculum, and assists in running the Lovewell during open hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support with the day-to-day operations of The Lovewell Center with Director & Lovewell Coordinator.
• Assist in overseeing Lovewell during open hours.
• Assist in overseeing volunteers.
• Assist/lead outreaches alongside LW & Hub staff

• Coordinate and oversee Lovewell Classes.
• Work with Lovewell Program Coordinator to plug in classes.
• Prep teachers with class materials.
• Curriculum research & development.
• Scheduling semester classes.
• Recruitment & communication with Lovewell teachers.

• Connect individuals experiencing homelessness to the resources and opportunities within The Lovewell Center.
• Care Management.
• General Assistance (ID’s, basic needs, etc.) & overseeing HMIS.
• Lovewell Phone Line.
• Bridge Housing.
• Discipleship with Lovewell members through one on one meetings, groups, etc.
• Oversee the Lovewell Crew members.

• Provide avenues for community events (such as resource fairs).
• Provide awareness of area agencies and organizations.
• Creating & maintaining Community Partnerships
• Housing Tracking System.
• Maintaining Resource Database.
• Government Assistance & Housing.
• Assist LW Director with agency partnerships

• Assist at Hub wide events.
• Speak on behalf of The Hub & Lovewell Center to partners, Hope Church, etc.

Skills Required:
The Lovewell Member Advocate requires a combination of sharing the love of Jesus and empathizing with our members’ current life circumstances. Specific skills required include:

• Knowledge of homeless resources in Las Vegas including government assistance and housing.
• The ability to lead and inspire volunteers as well as the homeless community.
• Computer program knowledge for case management tracking system.
• Creative thinker!
• Leadership skills required to define and manage a set of goals.
• Excellent mediator.
• Ability and desire to take the lead on new initiatives of The Lovewell.
• Ability to delegate and work as a team with volunteers.
• Clearly share the heart and empowering model of The Lovewell.
• Ability to see what needs to be done and jump right in to accomplish that goal/need.
• Incredible people skills.
• Be open to criticism and have a desire to grown and continue learning.
• A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly.
• Experience creating resource guides.
• Needs to be continually learning and connecting to local resources and new curriculum.
• Comfortable with leading and sharing with the community about The Hub LV.
