Walking in Step with Christ Together
"But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, 'If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?'" - Galatians 2:11-14
Accountability is a major aspect of being involved in a small group of believers. When you come into a small group environment, you open yourself up to the blessing of transparency, honesty, and accountability. But that isn't judgment for your shortcomings; it's helping you keep in step with the Gospel of Christ! Understand that it's a two-way street; not only do others speak into your life and help you see where you may have stepped out of line, but it's your responsibility as well to help others see their blind spots like Paul and Cephas in the passage above. If you haven't already, seek out a small group where you can create healthy and strong accountability. "Two are better than one, For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion." (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
Are you in a small group where healthy accountability is in place?
