“O love the Lord, all you His godly ones! The Lord preserves the faithful and fully recompenses the proud doer.” – Psalm 31:23
The Psalmist, erupting in great exhortation to love the Lord, gives one of the reasons why Jesus followers are to love Him. Here’s why: God is a preserving God. He watches over. He guards those whose trust and confidence is in Him. He keeps those who are faithful to Him. Today, as Jesus followers, we grow to understand and rest in this reality as we pursue God daily in His Word and prayer. And as we get to know Him, our trust and confidence in Him is also deepened. Therefore, we will not fear or be filled with anxiety when the storms of life come. In fact, we begin to see the storms of life as the means by which He desires to grow us in new ways.
