“I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands.” – 1 Samuel 15:11
Have you ever asked someone to do something, and they only completed a portion of their assigned task? Would you say that person obeyed that which you told them? Probably not. Saul struggled with the same thing. He wrestled with partial obedience. However, in principle, partial obedience is still disobedience. As Jesus followers, through our relationship with Him, God often calls us to take steps of obedience. And for a lot of different reasons, we may only partially obey. Saul’s relationship with God was hindered greatly because of his partial obedience.
Is there any partial obedience that you need to confess and correct in order to walk in deeper intimacy with Him?
