“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. ‘I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you'”.- John 14:16-18
What is better: to have Jesus beside you, or the Holy Spirit inside you? Most of us would probably choose the first option. But that gives evidence to the fact that we don’t understand the blessing we have in the indwelling and empowering nature of the Holy Spirit. The Christian life is the life that Jesus lived then, now lived in and through us today. And this happens through the promised Holy Spirit. As Jesus ascended into Heaven, the Holy Spirit descended to earth so that He can lead us in all truth and to the knowledge of Christ. In another passage in the New Testament, Paul said that those who live according to the Holy Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit, which results in life and peace (Romans 8:5-6).Have we truly grasped the blessing of the Holy Spirit that is within us?
