“A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.” – Luke 6:40
Have you ever been trained in something? Maybe it was how to operate a piece of equipment at work, how to use a computer program, or something entirely different. Training can sometimes be tedious! But without training, you won’t learn what you need to know to eventually teach other trainees! The same is true in our relationship with other believers. Jesus followers should always have someone they are learning from and someone they are training. This is discipleship – and it’s how the kingdom is expanded! Matthew 28:20 says, “Gomake disciplesteaching (or training) them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Discipleship is a journey not a destination. There’s always more to learn, and there’s always someone eager to be taught!
Do you currently have someone pouring into your life and training you? Are you currently pouring into someone else’s life and training them?
