“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Matthew 5:6
Hunger and thirst depicts the most basic daily needs in physical life. Have you ever experienced, however, overwhelming hunger or deep thirst? If so, you know that extreme hunger or thirst is like a force, pushing your physical body to satisfy its need with food or water. Jesus tells us that we will be blessed and satisfied when we come desiring a right relationship with a Holy God. Unfortunately, we sometimes feed on and drink things that leave us empty, and that do not satisfy our real hunger and thirst. Are you hungry and thirsty for the things of God?
Jesus will never turn you away when you come to him with a deep sense of sin, separation and the overwhelming desire to be right before God. He promises to bless that attitude and satisfy that pursuit.
Is there anything in your life that you crave above a relationship with Jesus? Pray, ask forgiveness and move forward with your pursuit of Jesus and His truth. Jesus says that pursuit will bless you, and satisfy you, like nothing else.
