“but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.” – John 14:31
Have you ever loved someone so much that you were willing to do anything to show that love to that person? A parent? A spouse? A friend? In John 3:16 we are told, “God so loved the world…” In John 14:31 we are told, “so that the world may know that I love the Father.” The only way for God’s great love to break through the dam and gush forth into the world was for Jesus to become the perfect sacrifice to satisfy all of our sins. The love Jesus had for Abba Father accomplished exactly that. That love was enough to compel Jesus to do whatever it took to display to the world how much He loved the Father. We have to shift our focus from trying our best to love others and put all of that effort into loving God alone; then He will love the world through us.
