During the month of January 2018, our church will be in a series called, AWAKEN: Pursuing God’s Presence. During AWAKEN, we are inviting our entire church to accept a 21-Day Challenge. And this challenge as three components:
1. GOD TIME COMPONTENT: Read the AWAKEN 2018 daily devotional as part of your God Time . See below for more information on this element.
2. GROUP TIME COMPONENT: Participate in a small group as we together, individually and in community, learn how to pursue the presence of God
3. GATHER TIME COMPONENT: Prioritize attending your regular Gather Time service on Sunday, January 7th and 14th. In addition, we are asking our entire church to make a plan to attend THREE special Gather Time experiences on Sunday, January 21st and Monday, January 22nd:
- Sunday morning at either 8:15a, 9:45a, or 11:30a
- Sunday evening at 6:30p
- Monday evening at 6:30p
Each Gather Time will have a special guest teaching from a different perspective on pursuing God’s presence and seeking God for spiritual revival and awakening.
21-day god time journey
As a part of AWAKEN, we have written a 21-day God Time journey. One of the reasons for these devotions is to help prepare our hearts to hear from God during our personal God Time. Clyde Cranford said it like this: “Each day, in our quiet time, we must worship God by fixing our hearts on Him. Fixing our hearts on God involves a deliberate stirring of our affections toward Him.”
Each devotion is divided into three parts: Read, Reflect, and Pray.
Read: Read the entire selected Bible passage(s) and meditate on the key verse(s).
Reflect: Read the reflective thought that explains each day’s chosen Bible passage and daily theme. Ask yourself how the Bible passage applies to your life. Ask God to reveal Himself to you more and more each day.
Pray: As you begin each day, take time to pray and listen to God. Use the prayer for the day as an outline to cry out to God.

Another great resource that you can use in your God Time each day is A.W. Tozer's book The Pursuit of God. We've created a reading plan to help you journey through this book during the month of January. You can purchase a physical copy at our Resource Center on Sunday or on Amazon. This book is also available for FREE for Apple devices on iBooks.
